Introducing a breathtaking 4-Day 3-Night Fall Color Photography Tour around the enchanting San Juans of Colorado! Are you a nature lover, photography enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of autumn’s vibrant hues? As the leaves begin to change, the San Juan Mountains transform into a kaleidoscope of rich, warm colors that beckon photographers to come and explore. My expertly curated Fall Color Photo Tour is designed to immerse you in the heart of this natural spectacle, taking you on a journey through picturesque landscapes, hidden gems, and stunning vistas.

Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned photographer, I will be on hand to offer personalized photography tips and techniques. From mastering composition to capturing the perfect light, you’ll elevate your photography skills to new heights.

My tour is meticulously planned to coincide with the peak of fall colors. You’ll visit iconic spots like Dallas Divide, Last Dollar Road, Silverton and Telluride, where you can witness the mountains dressed in golden aspens.  We will also take the iconic Durango Train to Silverton, as well as ride the Gondola in Telluride.

To ensure an intimate and personalized journey, we keep our tour groups small. This enables you to connect with fellow participants and receive one-on-one attention from me.

Your comfort is also my priority. I’ve taken care of the accommodation details, so you can focus solely on your passion for photography and the awe-inspiring beauty of nature.

This all-immersive workshop also includes 6 hours of classroom setting editing courses so you can fine tune your style and create a cohesive gallery of your trip.

What you will learn on this adventure:

• Evaluating locations
• Choosing the right lens and focal length
• Finding the right aperture
• How to study light
• What filters to use and when
• Composition using wide angle distortion and lens compression
• How to focus and compose at night
• Blue hour blending
• Long exposure techniques
• Lightroom and Photoshop editing

This workshop does require light hiking at some locations of less than 2 miles round trip with very little elevation gain but will push you to your limits when it comes to comfort, sleep, and creativity.  We will also be driving 1-2 hours daily to each new location.

• All permits, train ride tickets and lodging accommodations are included to help take the travel stress out of your adventure!  We will be staying at the lovely Twin Peaks Lodge and Hot Springs in Ouray.
• You will receive a print voucher to Steam Art & Graphics, redeemable for a 12×18 print of your favorite capture at the workshop!
• My free Intro To Astro Guide can be downloaded from my Shop to help you brush up on your star knowledge before the workshop.

Transportation and meals are not included.  High Clearance 4WD is necessary to access a couple of places for the mid-day scenic drives.  You can choose to not take the scenic drives, or rent a 4WD vehicle at DriveDiff.com, Jeep Ouray or Ouray Moutain Adventures; these are just some of the many places that offer 4WD rentals.  The price of the rental is not included in the tuition.
