Chasing Central Oklahoma Light: From the Red Bed Plains to the Arbuckle Mountains
Experiencing the beautiful light dance across the Oklahoma plains is incredible, whether it’s sun rays, atmospheric glow, or lightning bolts! Join me August 16-20th as we chase Central Oklahoma’s magical vibes down the state.
This 5 Day – 4 Night Adventure Photography Workshop will focus on capturing sunset to sunrise, and everything in between. Â You will learn the best settings for shooting anytime of the day, from twilight, golden hour, sunrise, sunset, blue hour, the Milky Way, and even some wildlife.
I have chosen the dark sky week in August so we can play all day (and night) learning about the celestial objects in the night skies and watching the warm sun rise and set on the endless horizon. Â You will be guided through the Sooner State’s best kept secrets and hidden gems at all the perfect times.
We will explore a different area of the state every day including the Salt Plains Wildlife Refuge, Gloss Mountain State Park, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, and Turner Falls, giving you ample opportunities to come away with many great images in over 40+ hours of onsite shooting time. Using advanced photography techniques you will also learn to capture stunning and unique compositions. This all-immersive workshop also includes 9 hours of classroom setting editing courses so you can fine tune your style and create a cohesive gallery of your trip.
Experiencing the changing light will leave you inspired to create powerful imagery that tells unique stories. I hope you not only walk away from this workshop with an improved skillset, but also a group of photographers you can call your people.
A fun adventure is guaranteed!
This workshop does require light hiking at some locations of less than 2 miles round trip with very little elevation gain but will push you to your limits when it comes to comfort, sleep, and creativity. Â We will also be driving 1-2 hours daily to each new location, saving the cooler parts of the day for capturing the landscapes and using the mid afternoon time for relocating and indoor editing courses.
All entrance fees, permits and lodging accommodations are included to help take the travel stress out of your adventure!
A print voucher to Steam Art & Graphics will also be given to you, good for a 12×18 print of your favorite capture at the workshop!
My free Intro To Astro Guide can be downloaded from my Shop to help you brush up on your star knowledge before the workshop.
Transportation and meals are not included.
SPACE IS LIMITED Â FOR TEACHING PURPOSES AND TO KEEP COMPOSITIONS UNCLUTTERED.
