Join me on an unforgettable journey where we’ll capture stunning photos of sunrises, sunsets, wildlife, including majestic elk, enchanting waterfalls, and the vibrant painted bluffs.

During this retreat, we’ll be based at the impressive Harmony Mountain Retreat in Jasper, where nature’s tranquility will inspire your creativity. With the autumnal landscapes of the Buffalo National River as our backdrop, you’ll have the opportunity to hone your photography skills and capture breathtaking moments.

The Buffalo Fall Color Photo Retreat will consist of capturing:

  • Sunrises and Sunsets
  • Wildlife (including Elk during Rutting Season)
  • Waterfalls
  • Painted Bluffs
  • Historic Structures and Points of Interest along the River

Over 20+ hours of photography guided services!

You will learn:

  • Shooting in manual mode
  • Choosing the right aperture for the scene
  • Finding the best composition
  • Capturing wildlife from a safe distance
  • Tips for focusing manually
  • Long Exposure Techniques on waterfalls
  • Focus Stacking
  • HDR Bracketing

You will also gain access to my private Workshops Facebook group and I will supply you with instructions on how to do basic edits as well as merge HDR and process focus stacking on your captures in both Lightroom and Photoshop. A print voucher to Steam Art & Graphics will also be given to you, good for a 12×18 print of your favorite capture at the workshop!

Itinerary

Friday: 

  • 3 PM Check In at Lodge and unpack
  • 5:30 PM Capturing Sunset
  • 7 PM Dinner (provided) – we will grill out at lodge (please let me know of any dietary restrictions or needs)
  • 8:30 PM Editing Course – 1.5 hours

Saturday:

  • 5 AM Breakfast (provided)
  • 6:30 AM Sunrise hike to Hawksbill – 2.7 miles round trip
  • 9:30 AM Hedges Pouroff
  • 10:30 AM Elk Education Center
  • 11 AM Lunch at BOC
  • 12:30 PM Villines Homestead
  • 2 PM Steel Creek Bluffs
  • 5 PM Historic Structures around Boxley – mill, pump house, church
  • 6 PM Elk Watching for sunset
  • 7 PM Dinner (provided) – we will grill out at lodge (please let me know of any dietary restrictions or needs)
  • 8:30 PM Editing Course – 1.5 hours

Sunday:

  • 5 AM Breakfast (provided)
  • 6:30 AM Sunrise at Arkansas Grand Canyon
  • 8:30 AM Parker Hickman Homestead
  • 10:30 AM Maplewood Fall Color
  • 12:30 PM Lunch at Ozark Cafe (provided)
  • 2:30 PM Triple Falls/Twin Falls
  • 4 PM:  Lost Valley hike (2.4 miles round trip)
  • 6 PM:  Elk Watching for sunset
