Join us for the Mowdy Milky Way Roundup, an unforgettable weekend at Oklahoma’s Mowdy Ranch, where wild mustangs roam through blooming meadows beneath the glow of the Milky Way. This April workshop blends the best of spring landscapes, wildlife photography, and astrophotography — all set on one of the most scenic ranches in the Midwest.

Each day brings something new: golden-hour rides into the fields surrounded by wildflowers, peaceful sunrise sessions as the mustangs graze, and late-night adventures capturing the Milky Way as it arches over the rolling plains. You’ll even have the chance to experiment with star trackers for pinpoint-sharp night skies, learning both on-site and in post-processing how to blend tracked skies with your foregrounds.

Between field sessions, enjoy comfortable private lodging, delicious ranch-style meals, and a hands-on editing course back at the homestead. You’ll receive three exclusive presets — the HDR Glow Preset for enhancing your vibrant daylight scenes and the Night Glow Preset Pack for your astrophotography edits — ensuring your images radiate the same magic you felt behind the camera.

Wide Angle Lens (need one that can open up to f/2.8) e.g. 15-35mm, 14mm prime
Mid Range Lens (e.g. 24mm-70mm, 50mm)
Long Range Lens (e.g. 100-400mm, 70-200mm) – this will be your most used lens
Intervalometer for astrophotography – some cameras have them built-in
Tripod
Polarizer Filter & Light Pollution Filter for wide angle lens
Memory Cards

She took us to the perfect locations that she had scouted ahead of the workshop, and provided each participant personal attention to ensure everyone came home with an incredible image. The editing portion of the workshop was just as incredible as the photography. She is a very knowledgeable and patient instructor and helped each one of us at our own level to edit the images we captured in the field. Highly recommend!

I learned a lot in the field on composition and in the editing class. Brennen is a great teacher with patience and is very knowledgeable with a great personality. You can tell she loves teaching and helping people learn milky way photography. I 'm looking forward to another workshop in Oct and highly recommend Brennen to anyone interested in learning landscape or milky way photography. Her timing and instructions (verbal, written, and in person) make it easy to follow along and she leaves plenty of time for questions and problems with equipment.  I had a such a relaxing but exhaustive 3 day weekend! Up at 3:30am to catch the first rising of the Milky Way... Homemade breakfast with more food than we could eat! I learned so much from Brennen and she brought us to the most beautiful places. I can’t believe that I took some of the photos I’ve collected from this trip.
