Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned photographer, I will be on hand to offer personalized photography tips and techniques. From mastering composition to capturing the perfect light, you’ll elevate your photography skills to new heights.

My tour is meticulously planned to coincide with the peak of fall colors. You’ll visit iconic spots like Dallas Divide, Ophir Needles, from Silverton to Telluride, where you can witness the mountains dressed in golden aspens. We will also take the iconic Durango Train to Silverton, as well as ride the Gondola in Telluride.

To ensure an intimate and personalized journey, I keep the tour groups small. This enables you to connect with fellow participants and receive one-on-one attention from me.

Your comfort is also my priority. I’ve taken care of the accommodation details, so you can focus solely on your passion for photography and the awe-inspiring beauty of nature.

What you will learn on this adventure:

Evaluating locations
Choosing the right lens and focal length
Finding the right aperture
How to study light
What filters to use and when
Composition using wide angle distortion and lens compression
How to focus and compose in low light
Long exposure techniques
HDR, Focus Stacking, & Panoramas

This workshop does require light walking at some locations of less than 1 mile round trip with very little elevation gain but will push you to your limits when it comes to comfort, sleep, and creativity. We will also be driving 1-2 hours daily to each new location.

All permits, train ride tickets and lodging accommodations are included to help take the travel stress out of your adventure! We will be staying at the lovely Twin Peaks Lodge and Hot Springs in Ouray.
You will receive a print voucher to Steam Art & Graphics, redeemable for a 12×18 print of your favorite capture at the workshop, as well as a copy of my HDR Glow Preset to help streamline your editing workflow.

Transportation and some meals are not included.

She took us to the perfect locations that she had scouted ahead of the workshop, and provided each participant personal attention to ensure everyone came home with an incredible image. The editing portion of the workshop was just as incredible as the photography. I learned a lot in the field on composition and in the editing class. Brennen is a great teacher with patience and is very knowledgeable with a great personality. You can tell she loves teaching and helping people learn milky way photography. I 'm looking forward to another workshop in Oct and highly recommend Brennen to anyone interested in learning landscape or milky way photography. Her timing and instructions (verbal, written, and in person) make it easy to follow along and she leaves plenty of time for questions and problems with equipment.  I had a such a relaxing but exhaustive 3 day weekend! Up at 3:30am to catch the first rising of the Milky Way... Homemade breakfast with more food than we could eat!
